2021-Oshane Bryant Self Defense Interview With Host Richie B, of The Bridge99fm

Introduction

In the business week of August 29, 2022-September 2, 2022 the people I encountered revealed how truly worthwhile this experiential journey of building with OB Fitness is:

-My buck up meeting with a friend from the early days of OB Fitness building on the UWI Mona Campus.

-A referral of a new member into OB Fitness Personal Training System, who joined without doubt in the person who referred.

-An expression of “we’ll only bring good people”, by an individual who has been a member of OB Fitness for 1 month.

As I absorb the current reality of OB Fitness attracting similarly aligned people; consolidating with the building of a community revolving around the commonality of support; and in togetherness with the said growing community, adopting sustainably healthier practices towards leading fulfilled lives, I can’t help but be in a state of gratitude.

My Buck Up Meeting With Friend From UWI (OB Fitness Early Days)

When Jeria expressed:

“Bredda mi memba when we use to par inna the library late nights, as I studied for my exams, and you worked on building your business…how you slept under the gazebo during the week, and here you are now…mi proud a yuh enuh yute!”

In the physical I expressed: “Respect”. But in my spirit, I knelt, and extended my thanks to the almighty. For as I knew it, it was him who kept me through it all. It was him who guided me. It was him who granted me the stamina, and capacity, to have faith in the process-a processing that included:

-Nuff hungry nights.

-Plenty walking of long distances between Newport Manchester, Jamaica & UWI, Mona (in daytime & nighttime).

-Being looked down on as one who is wasting time/failure having turned down career opportunities in JDF (Jamaica Defense Force), Oil Industry & Earthquake Unit Jamaica; to be a trainer-one without a gym, or not working out of a gym at that.

A referral of a new member into OB Fitness Personal Training System, who joined without doubt in the person who referred.

This standout because of the indication of a strengthening in the positioning of the OB Fitness brand in the minds of the people (in Jamaica, and within the Jamaican Diaspora). An indication ‘after years’ reveal, that while qualifications on paper hold some weight, time is truly the master. And that irrespective of how much you have attained to position yourself as best suited for the task(s), you should enter each new day as an empty glass, willing to be filled with edifying substances. For it is through this approach, that you will be capable of helping in a way that is relevant & applicable, to the one who is in need. Thus improving your brand position sustainably over time.

“We’ll Only Bring Good People”

When the people you serve express something such as this (backed through action), this gives you peace in the entrepreneurial/self-fulfilling journey. As social beings, having access to people who understands and aligns with your life journey; in mission, vision & values-makes the experience of living through the process that much easier & sweeter. Non-aligned individuals within your social circle contributes greatly to your reduced happiness & economic activity. Outcomes that ultimately shape you towards a state of ill health & frustration. Having access to good people ultimately is what will lead to you sustainably enjoying a better quality of life in our socially-driven world.

Summary

The journey of fulfillment requires your processing. A processing that requires years of your dedication. It is a processing, that never ceases (once you approach your life as a cup ready to be filled). Commit to this journey however, for it is the way I know, that will (over time) have you living with a sustainable sense of accomplishment; and capacity to accomplish-irrespective of how the conditions of the environment around you, will change.
