An annual thing for me on my birthday, is to ‘hol a medz’. To reflect on a year that was. To have some alone time with the almighty. This is customary for me, because as an individual who has experienced many lows, the highs yield the spiritual resonance of overwhelming gratitude.
Here are my highlights for the year 2021-2022
In October 2021 the highlights for me were the testing of Sassy & Serious Activewear; as well as OB Fitness Self Defense interview at The Bridge 99fm.
Finalizing and publishing hiking maps (UWI-Holywell) with Geo considerations & fitness conditioning tips for hiking these paths in Jamaica, standout. These maps (owned by OB Fitness) are the first of their kind in Jamaica, and hold value towards ensuring the safety of hikers as they venture on these trails.
Safely guiding community members of OB Fitness through a 30+km hike from UWI, Mona-Holywell, using the hiking maps (OB Fitness) as a reference & resource. This hike was completed in 8+hours, and was a first for the bulk of the participants.
Group excursion to the Blue Mountains of Jamaica & 6.5kmwalk (by senior community members chiefly) on the Palisadoes Strip (Kingston, Jamaica).
OB Fitness name being seen in person by those on the Motherland Continent (Country: South Africa). This was as a result of an OB Fitness community member (Patrice) wearing an apparel piece. This was considered as my highlight of 2022, until…
The securing of the villa property, and the confirmation of OB Fitness hosting it’s 1st “Fitness Retreat Experience!”. And the resumption of my teaching of KUKIBO Martial Arts curriculum to students, on the UWI Mona Campus.
OB Fitness Personal Training System Member (Tara), competing in her first Triathlon (Sweetwater Triathlon) & placing 2nd.
Me tying the knot with my beautiful wife (if you know. You know).
OB Fitness Sassy & Serious activewear launched in Jamaica; OB Fitness recruiting talented & passionate people to join it’s team. And all KUKIBO Martial Arts students of mine successfully passing their pre-grading.
Accomplishing beyond the targets initially set or thought of over the past year. It’s been an abundantly blessed year.
