Empowering Men of Tomorrow: Boys Day-Mona Preparatory School

Why Speaking To These Boys Was Important For Me

By their age (6-7 years), I had been suspended from Princess May Primary School (London, England), 3 times.

I had broken my “friend’s” arm at nursery-age (Basic School/Pre-School) in a “fight.”

I was skulling (deliberately absent from) classes to engage in sexual activities…

I was experiencing physical abuse & emotional abuse.

I was expelled and out of school for 2-4 years.

I had no parents present.

I had no exposure to positive guidance from any source to support my internal rehabilitation from the trauma (self & externally-inflicted), as well as positive development.

When It Was Brought To My Attention I Was Invited To Speak With These Boys

I was honoured. And when I was actually before these boys, I saw then & there the significance of the men & women of tomorrow, having the support & guidance of positive adult figures, to guide them towards living their life to their fullest benefit; as well as to the benefit of the world around them.

These boys through their energy, engagement & aspirations, encouraged me & resulted in me feeling fulfilled.
