Gold Mine Visit: AUSJAM Remains | Pennants, Clarendon (Jamaica)

AUSJAM Gold Mine is the site for the once operational, Gold Mining exploits, in Pennants Clarendon, Jamaica.

On July 27, 2025, we set out to conduct geological observations & mapping of the Pennants area. Through the conducting of interviews with community members (Pennants), we learned of:

  • The whereabouts of the AUSJAM mine.
  • The exploits of renewed Gold Mining prospecting by Geophysx.

The Relative Close Proximity of the AUSJAM Mine to The 2025 Drilling Exploits of Geophysx

Our scrutiny of the locations of both the AUSJAM Mine, and the drilling by Geophysx, indicate to us the broad extent of Gold Mining potential in Pennants & nearby communities sitting on the same/similar geology. Essentially, the folded & faulted close proximity of the two locations in Pennants, support our hypothesis, that the location of AUSJAM Mine, has the potential to be reactivated.

General Geologic Observations & Interpretation-Pennants, Clarendon

Rocks with Aphanitic-Porphrytic-Phaneritic texture were observed at both the AUSJAM Mine, and the location of drilling by Geophysx. Our acid testing of in-situ rock bodies immediately surrounding both the AUSJAM Mine & the drilling location of Geophysx, were positive for weak acid interactions. This is interpreted by the author as a strong indicator of these rocks having a seafloor-near seafloor origination. Hence, the epithermal Gold that was extracted at the AUSJAM, is a strong indicator for epithermal Gold deposits at the drilling site (2025).
