Jamaica’s deposits of Bauxite Ore is so extensive that it ranks Jamaica within the top 6 countries (Bauxite capacity). In the 1950s, Jamaica was the chief supplier of Bauxite (The Jamaica Bauxite Institute).
But with all of this Bauxite capacity, and revenue generating potential, is it’s extraction worth it for Jamaica?
