Gold in Jamaica- Main Ridge & Pennants Clarendon
C3 Metals & Geophysx Jamaica, have been quoted in Jamaican media outlets: Jamaica Gleaner & Jamaica Observer, of having struck gold. Through their partnership (C3 Metals & Geophysx Jamaica), they have embarked on unearthing Gold & Copper–Super Block project. This project area encompass Main Ridge, Clarendon. Pennants (Clarendon) is also included in this project area.
Central Inlier, Jamaica Geology: Foundation to Portland, Jamaica Gold Potential
Professor Simon Mitchell’s 2013 Journal Article: Lithostratigraphy of the Central Inlier, Jamaica, gives a thorough description of the geologic formations & members that are sources of Gold & Copper mineralization. Basalt, Andesite & Rhyolite (volcanic rocks), are examples of the petrology mentioned.
Portland, Jamaica–Gold Potential?
My field geology mapping in Portland, Jamaica has led me to the hypothesis that Portland has Gold potential. Albany, Claverty Cottage, Shirley Castle, and Swift River, are areas that reveal similar geology (Andesites, Basalt…) to those mentioned in Professor Simon Mitchell’s paper referenced herein. A limitation in my work however, is the non-geochemical & non-geophysical tests done; as well as the non-microscopic mineral observations done.
Nevertheless, among other things I won’t explicitly mention, I can feel that I’m right.
