In 2023 there was a buzz in Chester Castle, Hanover. This buzz revolved around the community residents belief of finding gold.
It was eventually determined that the find was that of Pyrite (Fools Gold), and not gold.As we watched videos of the residents ‘mining’ operation(s) the colour of the sediment(s), caught the attention of our scientifically-inquisitive mind.
Could it be that the sediment(s) color holds clues not just in the pyrites formation; but potentially in true gold being nearby?
